Overview

Synkro lets you decide exactly which product and variant properties it keeps in sync between your connected stores. These choices live in two places within your Synkro settings, under the Syncing options section:

  • Global sync settings — your account-wide defaults, applied to every store connected under your Synkro account.
  • Store-level sync settings — per-store overrides that let you disable syncing for specific properties in a single store, without changing your account-wide defaults.

Together, these settings give you fine-grained control over what Synkro treats as a “syncable” change.

How sync settings relate to product cloning

It’s important to understand the difference between the initial clone of a product and ongoing syncing of that product’s properties.

When Synkro clones a product using the Product Cloning tool, all of the product’s data is copied to the destination store as part of that initial clone — regardless of your sync settings. Your sync settings do not limit what gets included when a product is first created.

After the initial clone, your Global sync settings (and any Store-level sync settings) determine whether a future change to a property should sync. For example, if you disable Price syncing, future price changes in one store will no longer propagate to other products in connected stores — but a freshly cloned product will still arrive with the price intact.

In short: cloning includes everything once; sync settings govern what happens to changes from that point forward.

Global sync settings

Your Global sync settings are the account-wide defaults for which fields Synkro will sync between stores. If you don’t want a particular field to sync, you can disable it here and the change applies to every store connected under your Synkro account.

Accessing your Global sync settings

From your Synkro settings, open the Syncing options section in the left sidebar and click Global sync settings.

There are two groups of settings on this page: Variant property sync settings and Product property sync settings.

Variant property sync settings

These settings control which product variant properties Synkro syncs within and between your stores for variants that share the same SKU (or Barcode, depending on your syncing identifier).

PriceThe variant’s selling price
Compare at priceThe “compare at” (original) price shown alongside the selling price
Cost per itemThe cost (COGS) recorded for the variant
HS (Harmonized System) codeThe customs / harmonized system code used for international shipping
Country/Region and Province of originThe declared country and province of origin used for customs

Product property sync settings

These settings control which product-level properties Synkro syncs between your stores. Synkro only syncs product property changes from parent to child, where the child product was created by Synkro via the Product Cloning tool.

Saving your changes

By default, every property is enabled (checked). To stop a property from syncing account-wide, uncheck it and click Save at the bottom of the page. Your new defaults apply to changes that occur after you save.

Store-level sync settings

Sometimes a single store needs to behave differently from the rest of your account. Store-level sync settings let you override your Global sync settings for one store by disabling syncing for specific product or variant properties — without affecting your other connected stores.

What store-level overrides do

When you disable a property for a store at this level, Synkro stops syncing that property for that store only. Specifically, it stops Synkro from:

  • Updating the selected properties in this store for changes that originated in other connected stores (blocks incoming changes).
  • Syncing changes to the selected properties that originated in this store out to your other connected stores (blocks outgoing changes).

In other words, a store-level override is a per-store “deny list” that blocks both directions of sync for the properties you select. It layers on top of your Global sync settings — anything you disable here is disabled for this store regardless of your account-wide defaults.

Accessing your Store-level sync settings

Store-level settings are configured from within the specific store you want to customize. Open that store’s Synkro settings, go to the Syncing options section, and click Store-level sync settings.

You’ll see a list where you can select one or more product/variant properties to disable for that store. For example, selecting Price stops that store from sending or receiving price changes, even though Price remains enabled in your Global sync settings for every other store. Select the properties you want to disable and click Save.

Example use cases

  • Region-specific pricing — A store sells in a different currency or pricing tier. Disable Price and Compare at price at the store level so its prices stay independent while inventory and other properties continue to sync.
  • A store with its own product descriptions — A storefront uses localized or differently-worded copy. Disable Title and Description for that store so its copy isn’t overwritten by changes elsewhere.
  • A store that manages its own tags — Disable Tags for a store that uses its own tagging scheme for merchandising or automation.
